Description
Cast silver bars are produced in a simple, but time-consuming manner. Once the silver is melted down it is poured into prefabricated molds that produce the shape of the bar while ensuring a specific weight. Hallmark inscriptions are stamped onto cast silver bars with an incuse strike. Just like on incuse coins, the incuse inscriptions on these silver bars are beneath the surface of the bar rather than engraved onto the surface with a slight 3D relief.
Obverse design elements on the 1 kilo PAMP Suisse Silver Bars are simple and offer the important hallmarks of the bar. On this side of the bar, you will find the PAMP Suisse logo, weight, purity, and metal content of the bar, as well as its individual serial number. The reverse field of the 10 oz PAMP Cast Silver Bar comes with a blank field. Though it is devoid of design strikes, this face of the bar and the obverse will showcase common textures, striations, and other lines that result from the settling of the silver as it cools in the mold.
The design of these bars will feature the PAMP logo at the top, with the word “SUISSE” below it. Below that will be the specifications for the bar of “1 KILO”, “FINE SILVER”, & “999.0” which represents the purity of the silver in the bar. Also, at the bottom of each bar will be its own individualized serial number. This is done by Pamp Suisse to defend against potential counterfeits.
